Saint-Pierre is situated at 731 meters above sea level, among extensive apple cultivations, in a gentle hillside happily exposed to the sun. Located on the left bank of the Dora Baltea, it is one of the sunniest areas in the Valle d'Aosta.
Some housing groups found on the hill of Châtelair dating back to 3000 a. C. make Saint-Pierre one of the first villages in the Valle d'Aosta.
The presence of two castles is the unmistakable memory of the two noble families that governed the town along the course of the Middle Ages.

In addition to the production of apples, in Saint-Pierre the vine is grown, from which the famous red wine "Torrette" is produced.
Thanks to the relatively close position to the Aosta-Ovest motorway junction, both the regional capital and the valleys of the Gran Paradiso National Park can be easily reached from Saint-Pierre.
From the town of Vetan (1700 meters) you can experience the thrill of paragliding or the intense thrills of cat riding (climbing with the cat and snowshoeing and skiing), kiteski (paragliding with snowboard) and ski mountaineering.
