The Farm House was built in 1874. It is situated in the centre of France at the foot of the volcanic mountains in the Massif Central. The area is named 'les Combrailles'. The Puy de Dome and the Puy de Sancy are visible on clear days from the garden. The Farm House retains most of its original features. The sitting room retains the original wooden beams and fireplace now with an added wooden stove. A door leads to the main terrace where breakfast, lunch and dinner can be taken under the pergola. Adjacent to the sitting room is the old cowshed now converted into a large kitchen/dining area. This is now a days the main entrance to the Farm House.
The shower room and lavatory are on the ground floor, next to stairs leading to the first floor and the two bedrooms. Both have wooden floors. The village of St Christine with its church spire is visible in the distance from the window of the main bedroom.
A garden borders the property on three sides.
The towns of St Gervais d'Auvergne and St Eloy les Mines are both respectively within 10 and 15 mins drive to the house. Supermarkets and shops can be found in both. Market days are on Monday in St Gervais and on Saturday at St Eloy.
The town of Clermont Ferrand, capital of the Auvergne, is 60kms away, Montlucon and Vichy the other large principal towns at 50kms. The Sioule River Valley, partimoine national de France, is a short drive away.
La ferme a été construite en 1874. Elle est située dans le centre de la France au pied des montagnes volcaniques du Massif Central. La région est nommée ' les Combrailles. Le Puy du Dôme et Puy de Sancy sont visibles les jours clairs du jardin. La maison conserve la plupart de ses caractéristiques originales. Le salon retient ses poutres en bois et l'ancienne cheminée avec l'ajout maintenant d'un feu à bois. Une porte mène à la terrasse principale où le petit-déjeuner, le déjeuner et le dîner peuvent être servis sous la pergola. Adjacent au salon est la vieille étable maintenant convertie dans une grande cuisine/coin-repas. Ceci est maintenant l'entrée principale à la maison.
La douche et les toilettes sont au rez-de-chaussée, à côté de l'escalier menant aux deux chambres à coucher. Le village de st. Christine avec sa flèche d'église est visible dans la distance par la fenêtre de la chambre à coucher principale.
Un jardin de 3000 mètre carré borde la propriété sur trois côtés.
Les villes de st. Gervais d'Auvergne et st. Eloy les des Mines sont a une distance de 10 et 15 minutes respectivement de la maison avec supermarchés et magasins. Les jours du marché sont le lundi à st. Gervais et le samedi à st. Eloy.
