The house is in the unspoilt and quiet village of Orches which is perched on a hilltop on the edge of the Burgundy vineyards and has spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, including, on a clear day, Mont Blanc. The village is 15 minutes from Beaune and surrounded by beautiful countryside and historic wine villages such as Meursault, Volnay, Pommard, Monthelie and Auxey-Duresses. The village is a working, vinyard village, typical of the Bourgogne area.
Originally built as a farm estate in the mid-19th century, the buildings comprise a limestone built farmhouse on two levels, with 2, vaulted wine "caves" underneath.
Attached is a large stone barn, formerly used as stables for animals and then, latterly, for making local wine.
The house is located off a quiet village road and has safe play areas & plenty of off-road parking.
There is a large lounge on the 1st floor with wooden beams; originally a grain store. There is also a large private double bedroom and full bathroom.
The ground floor has 3 double bedrooms, kitchen, dining room with
french windows leading to a sunny, paved & gravelled patio area which can be used for dining & BBQ. Space is flexible for families or larger parties, with additional single beds in 2 bedrooms.
The house has high-speed fibre internet (free) and satellite TV, 4 double bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Orches has no shops but it is only a short drive to full facilities in Beaune, Meursault & Nolay.
There are many walking/cycle rails through the vinyards and forests of the area and many vinyards to visit as well as historic sites.
