Situated in beautifully landscaped grounds, with a hard tennis court and enormous secluded pool and leisure terrace, Vieilles Clauzades offers its guests an idyllic situation to relax and enjoy the beauty of the local countryside and amenities. Close to local vineyards, guests can enjoy wine tasting, walking, bird watching and take part in the local festivities during the summer period. The bastide village of Tournon d’Agenais (7kms) has a traditional square with restaurants, bank, small supermarket and on Friday nights in July and August it has a night market where guests can enjoy local music and food. Puy l’Eveque (16kms) is a medieval town situated on the River Lot. It has many summer events and a base nautique. Nearest main towns: Villeneuve-sur-Lot & Cahors - 25 minutes.
Accommodation: The imposing stone gateway to the Vieilles Clauzades, has electronic gates and a pigeonnier tower over with an outside staircase.
The spacious courtyard has gardens to its right and the secluded swimming pool terraces are to the left. Opposite the main gateway is the house that has stone steps that lead up to a terrace that is open to the front, and looks across the grounds and towards the main gateway. The terrace has two entrances that open into the sitting room and kitchen. The main sitting room has an open fireplace, beautiful tapestries, and classical furnishings. At the rear of the sitting room is the formal dining room area.
From the dining room you enter into the kitchen/breakfast room that has a fitted kitchen with gas hob with extractor hood, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and general electric equipment.
To the left of the central island unit is comfortable seating area with table and chairs and an open fireplace. Large windows look out across the gardens.
Off of the lobby at the back of the dining room, are two pretty double bedrooms. One has an en-suite shower-room with basin and wc. and there is a large bathroom situated between the two bedrooms that has a bath with shower attachment, basin and wc.
The upper floor has two twin bedrooms, a separate wc and bathroom with wc and basin.
From the dining room, stairs lead down to the lower floor to a second pretty sitting room/garden room that has a vaulted stone ceiling. The attractive doors open into the gardens, and on to the pool area. There are two bedrooms on the lower floor. The grand master bedroom has a superb ensuite bathroom that has a walk in shower, bath with shower attachment, wc and two basins. The twin bedroom has a bathroom with bath with shower over, wc and basin.
Around the pool are a selection of buildings that house the equipment and furniture for the pool. Within the grounds there is a large outside chess set and sand pit for children.
