My house is in the picturesque 7 valleys area of the Pas de calais in a rural village but not far from the towns of Frevent and Auxi-Le-chateau where you will find supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants and a swimming pool.
This house has been renovated to a high standard and includes all the usual facilities except WiFi.
Many places of interest are to be found within a short drive. For art lovers there are the museums of the Louvre at Lens and Matisse at Cateau-Cambresis. And for a day trip there is the house and gardens of Monet at Giverny.
Just 15 mins away are the gardens of Sericourt which were visited by Monty Don for a BBC programme. The Abbey and gardens of Valloires are also not to be missed.
There are also many historical buildings in the area including the chateau de Cercamp on the outskirts of Frevent and the grand square in Arras.
Trips to the beach at Fort mahon and the harbour town of Le Crotoy are just a short drive away on uncrowded roads.
The house has three bedrooms, two of which are upstairs. There is a bathroom upstairs and a small toilet with washbasin downstairs so it would be possible to accomodate someone with limited movement (but not wheelchair bound). Also note that the downstairs bedroom has a standard size single bed and a fold-up bed 80cm wide. Note that the window has a key operated opening limiter to prevent someone getting in from outside.
The main bedroom upstairs at the front has a standard size double bed and fitted wardrobes that encompass drawers and a full length mirror. The rear bedroom upstairs has two single beds that have been specially made so that they can be brought together without a gap to form a kingsize bed if required. Both this and the downstairs bedroom have wardrobes that are secured to the wall. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric hob/cooker, dishwasher, washing machine (on order) and fridge/freezer. The table can be extended to accommodate more than 6 settings. To the rear of the house there is a spacious conservatory with sun loungers, and a small garden part shaded by a tree. Off-road parking is available for up to 3 cars.
