Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: A conveniently located hotel near the A1 autoroute about 90 mins from Calais, with plenty of free parking. Though there appears to be no priory, the hotel is smartly built, with a particularly attractive brick-walled dining room. I only ever saw one staff member, who checked me in and served me a delicious dinner - I don't know if she cooked it too! The room, though small, was nicely appointed. For battlefield buffs, this is World War One country, with British, French and German cemeteries in the village (Rancourt).
