When it comes to shopping, go to Montparnasse, which is a large shopping center. You can also stroll down Rue Daguerre, which is similar to Rue Montorgueil. There, you will find bakeries and patisseries (where you can buy tasty macaroons...).
There are many places to eat in the borough. A small recommendation for Breton creperies! You won't have trouble finding them; they are omnipresent everywhere in the district.
