Large and beautiful Normandy farmhouse, comfortable and spacious measuring 95x20ft on 2 levels, totally isolated, with no neighbors (apart from cows from spring to autumn).
You will be comfortable there, quiet, with the possibility of great food, you will not be cold and will sleep to your heart's content. The house has retained its old charm, beams, stones, cob, while offering real cozy comfort.
The house is very well equipped, quality bedding, 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets ensure a smooth stay. 3 bedrooms have a 160 cm queen size double bed, which can accommodate 6 adults. The children's bedroom has two bunk beds and a single bed, 90 cm, for 3 children or 1 adult and 2 children. It is also possible to accommodate 1 child up to two years old in a travel cot. The kitchen is equipped with a large gas cooker with 2 electric ovens, 4 gas hobs and 1 hotplate.
You can eat meals in the kitchen on a large farm table, or in the dining room which allows everyone to dine on another large farm table. The living room and its large soft sofas welcome you around a warm fire for an aperitif, a film on Netflix or devour a good novel (we have a few in english) from the rich library adjoining. Otherwise, play the piano, Monopoly, chess or croquet in the grass. You will have 2.5 acres of land to play football, fly kites on windy days, pick fruits in spring and summer, or do nothing at all on deck chairs. A Weber barbecue with automatic ignition ensures the success of your grilling, and if the evenings are chilly, a brasero (brazier) will warm your toes or melt a few Marshmallows which will make you the heroes of the young ones. Both bathrooms have a bathtub to warmly think about the meaning of life. The central heating is oil-fired, a guarantee of unparalleled comfort.
We have around ten bikes of all sizes, rustic but functional, which will take you into the surrounding countryside or, for the fittest calves, to the charming villages of Broglie and Orbec.
The house is located in the extreme southwest of the département Eure, a stone's throw from the département Calvados. The region is superb, between picturesque villages, small hilly roads, forests, castles (at least 3 magnificent 18 mi away), sea (31 mi), places steeped in history, historic sites, fabulous cheeses (Camembert, Livarot, and many more), crème fraîche, meats, ciders, Calva (apple brandy), etc without forgetting its legendary sunsets and breathtaking starry nights. A large zoo (Cerza park) with a small train is accessible in 25 minutes, such as the Brionne ponds, the Lisieux cathedral, the Bec-Hellouin Abbey, or an incredible secret garden visible by appointment. If you are in a driving mood, to the north, visit the D-Day beaches, Rouen, to the south, the Perche, the famous Haras du Pin (stud farm), the Normandy-Maine geopark, to the east, Vernon and Giverny, the Claude Monet museum, to the west the Mont Saint Michel... In 10 minutes by car, visit Bernay, sub-prefecture of the département Eure, its superb town hall, its beautiful abbey, its Saturday market, its pastries on rue Thiers, and throughout the region, flea markets and “foire à tout“ (everything fairs) almost every weekend, the apple festival, etc.
When you come back to the house, if you don't make any noise, you may be able to observe a pair of green collars in the garden pond…
