Carole and Michel, originally from Hauts-de-France (formerly the Lower Burgundy region), have lived in Lille for over 30 years. They purchased this beautiful property in the south of the Yonne region, 20 minutes from Montbard.
The entire building is a former farmhouse whose outbuildings have been converted and converted into the main accommodation with three guest rooms, including one on the ground floor. The renovations also brought the spaces up to code and installed a pellet boiler.
When naming the rooms, we specifically sought to combine the winemaking aspect with the sleeping experience (humor included!):
"Couchey-là": A 22 m² double room located on the ground floor, with a queen-size bed and a private bathroom with shower and toilet.
"Monte et lit": 16 m² double room located on the first floor with a 140 cm bed, private bathroom with shower and toilet.
"Beaune Nuits": 18 m² double room located on the first floor with a 140 cm bed, private bathroom with shower and toilet.
On the ground floor, you will find a spacious room comprising the dining room and living room with a library and fireplace. Breakfasts are served here with local and/or homemade products, fruits from the garden and eggs from our chickens. In good weather, you can enjoy the outdoor terrace.
A peaceful village of 200 inhabitants, where a stone quarry has been operating since the 15th century. The houses are largely built of local stone, which lends a special charm, with several springs emerging in a few streets of the village.
Bierry is 20 minutes from the A6 motorway exits (21-22-23) and 20 minutes from the Montbard TGV train station. You can come here to rest and recharge your batteries. It's also a good base camp for exploring Burgundy Franche Comté, with its remarkable castles and religious buildings (Vezelay-Fontenay-Guédelon, etc.), medieval villages (Noyers, Flavigny, etc.), historical figures (Vercingétorix, Buffon, etc.), unspoiled nature (Morvan National Park), viticultural gems (Chablis and many others), and renowned gastronomy.
